SMACKFEST '09
Coed 4's tourney - Sat. July 25th at the Hermosa pier

Smackfest weekend kicks off with a guest bartending party at The Shore on Thursday 7/23 - as usual Bud Light, Red Bull, Grey Goose and more will be on special !! Get there by 9 so you don't wait in line.

Then come out and enjoy the largest coed 4's beach tourney in the world - the 16th Annual Smackfest VB Tourney. Wear crazy outfits, make new friends, and watch/play some great volleyball. Besides celebrating Smack Sportswear's 15th year in business, we'll party under the Red Bull tent while DJ Sleeper spins amazing tunes. Enjoy the VIP booths including Spectrum club, Smack/VB Superstore, Nutrishop, Back and Body Center, and more. All day happy hour at Sharkeez, as well as buffet meal and drink specials at the after party at Sangria. Checkin will be north of the Hermosa pier from 8-8:30, and if you aren't checked in by 9 you'll be out !! Part of the proceeds to benefit So Cal Foundation for Children.

SMACKFEST COED 4'S PRO TOURNEY

That's right, Bud Light has offered prize money of $2000 for the winning team, and Smack is throwing in another $800 for the 2nd place team. Format will include the top pros from the AVP and National teams. Minimum of 1 girl on the court at all times. Pool play format. 10 teams max on the courts in front of the Mermaid and Poop Deck. Checkin at 9, start at 10. Entry/team is $100.

2009 Volleyball Classes - Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
The Beginning Class is focused on learning the game, ball control and basic skills like passing and setting. The Intermediate class is for those who have graduated from the Beginner group - more intense focus on basic skills as well as advanced skills like hand setting, defense, shots and more. The Advanced Class is a for those who want a CBVA rating - besides sharpening the skills learned in the Interm class, we also work on side out strategies, jump and speed training, and more. Besides improving your game and getting in some good cardio, you'll also make lots of new friends.

2009 TUESDAY CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUES
Hermosa Beach 4-Person Coed VB League - Tuesdays. Next season will start up again on Tuesday, My 26th, 2009. Games will be north of the Hermosa Beach pier and will be played from 6-8pm. Format is best 2 out of 3 each evening, then playoffs at the end of the session! Registration must be made at the Community Center at 710 Pier Ave. in Hermosa Beach prior to Monday, May 25th. Register early as this league will sell out due to our cap of 40 teams Individuals must contact us to be placed on a team for registration.

Semi-competitive play - all levels of players.
* Must have 2 guys and 2 girls
* Each team must play best out of 3 games to 21 - Win by 2
* Teams must rotate players
* Girl must touch ball at least once, unless accidentally hit over on 1 or 2
* Side change one time - when a team reaches 11 points
Cost: $225 per team plus $5 per non-HB resident
